Short-Term Rehabilitation at Wesleyan: What To Expect
Feel Confident From the First Day of Care
Starting a short-term rehabilitation stay can feel overwhelming, especially after a hospital visit or medical event. At Wesleyan, we want you to feel reassured, informed, and supported from the moment you come through our doors.
That’s why we created a short video to help guide you through the first few days of your or your loved one’s rehab stay – so you’ll know exactly what to expect. Watch it below.
Preparing for Admission
- Driver’s license/government ID
- Medical insurance or Medicare information
- Living will/advance directives
- Medical power of attorney
- 5-7 days’ worth of comfortable clothing, such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants, front-button shirts, supportive shoes, and non-skid slippers
- Personal toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, and a comb/brush

The Arrival Process
Our team will greet you upon arrival and help you get settled.
You’ll meet your care team and receive an overview of your room, amenities, and daily schedule.
The First 72 Hours
You’ll undergo a personalized assessment to develop your care plan.
Therapists, nurses, and other specialists will meet with you to review your goals.
Family members are encouraged to participate in care discussions and ask questions.
Therapy & Care Services
Depending on your care plan, physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy may begin within the first 24 hours.
You’ll have access to specialized equipment, expert clinicians, and support for your recovery journey.
Amenities & Comfort
Enjoy meals tailored to your dietary needs, housekeeping, laundry, and common areas for rest and recovery.
Social and spiritual programming may also be available.
