What Is a VA-Contracted Nursing Home?
VA-contracted nursing facilities in the state of Indiana have been approved by the Veteran’s administration to provide a range of services to eligible Veterans – from residential care, skilled nursing care, and other medical care. These facilities are also commonly known as Community Living Centers (CLCs). Services vary by CLC.
Also, any of our Skilled Nursing facilities can point you in the right direction for other Veteran’s benefits such as the Aide & Attendance program to assist with the costs of Assisted Living and Home Health Care services.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Eligibility for admittance to a VA-contracted nursing home program or CLC in Indiana, like Bethel or Wesleyan Health & Rehabilitation, is dependent upon several factors. Veterans with a service connectivity rate of at least 60% and who are deemed unemployable and/or permanently and totally disabled are eligible for Short-Term rehab Skilled Nursing care services up to 100 days per year. Veterans with a service connectivity rate of 70% or greater are eligible for Long-Term Skilled Nursing services at no cost to the Veteran. *Every Veteran’s circumstance will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Do Veterans’ Spouses Qualify for Care?
Spouses, surviving spouses, and Gold Star parents in need of skilled nursing services may also be eligible for admission to an Indiana Veterans’ home, subject to state policy. *These benefits would also be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
